The Covid-19 pandemic has hastened the popularity of online consultations, too. At the beginning of the pandemic, it was found that online consultation for healthcare increased by 500% between March 1 to May 31, 2020. The report, by online e-health portal Practo, stated that around five crore Indians sought out healthcare online. The report found that the majority (80%) of all telemedicine users were first-time consumers, pointing toward rapid adoption of this modern approach to healthcare.
