The Rise in Virtual Healthcare

Originally intended to reach patients in remote locations, rapid advances in technology, coupled with the ease and convenience of virtual communications, are accelerating the adoption of telemedicine.

The Covid-19 pandemic has hastened the popularity of online consultations, too. At the beginning of the pandemic, it was found that online consultation for healthcare increased by 500% between March 1 to May 31, 2020. The report, by online e-health portal Practo, stated that around five crore Indians sought out healthcare online. The report found that the majority (80%) of all telemedicine users were first-time consumers, pointing toward rapid adoption of this modern approach to healthcare.

Today, Future Generali offers a range of virtual healthcare benefits in their plans. For example, the Future Generali Health Absolute plan covers online consultations regarding illness or injury, along with its other covers. This plan also allows users to track their fitness and watch mental wellness content.
